Home Owner's Insurance
When you
are purchasing a new home, you need to make sure that it is
insured from day one. In fact, the last "I" in PITI
stands for Homeowners Insurance. As part of the closing
process, the homeowners insurance is paid at closing for a
year's premium in advance, and then escrowed each month as
part of the PITI payment for each year thereafter. You
will need to call your insurance agent to set up your homeowners
insurance to ensure that your new home is protected.
Homeowners
insurance provides damage protection for your home and personal
property from a variety of events, including fire, lightning,
burglary, vandalism, storms, explosions, and more. In addition,
all homeowners insurance policies contains personal liability
coverage, which protects against lawsuits involving injuries
that occurred on and off your property.
Contact
your Insurance agent for assistance with getting your homeowners
insurance established. Your agent should assist you in determining
the policy that is best for you, as well as deductibles, amounts,
etc.
