  • Steve Arrington’s 2nd year as a Realtor® in Colorado.
  • The highest grossing movie is Back to the Future, starring Michael J. Fox.
  • “We Are the World” is recorded in January 1985.

  • Steve Arrington joins RE/MAX of Longmont.
  • The Fox Broadcasting Company becomes the United States’ fourth commercial broadcast television network.
  • IBM unveils the PC Convertible, the first laptop computer.

1987

  • In Steve’s first full year with RE/MAX, he earns membership into the prestigious 100% Club.
  • Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer is the #1 song in America.
  • In Super Bowl XXI, the New York Giants won 39-20 over the Denver Broncos.

1988

  • Steve is quickly gaining the reputation as being one of Longmont’s hardest working Realtors® .
  • In Super Bowl XXII, the Washington Redskins won 42-10 over the Denver Broncos.
  • Rainman, starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, is the highest grossing film in 1988.

1989

  • Steve receives call from FBI, questioning him regarding one of his listings. It is suspected the Unabomber is hiding there.
  • The Seinfeld Chronicles premieres on NBC. The show would later be retitled Seinfeld and become one of the most popular sitcoms in television history (1989-1998).
  • Talk show host, Geraldo Rivera’s nose is broken during a taping of his show, when a fight erupts on the set between guests.

  • Steve is highest producing agent in 1990 at RE/MAX of Longmont, the top-producing office in Longmont.
  • Steve is recognized as Longmont’s hardest working Realtor® .
  • The first McDonald’s opens in Moscow, Russia.
  • Portrait of Doctor Gachet by Vincent van Gogh is sold for a record $82.5 million.

1991

  • Steve places 15th in total sales for all RE/MAX agents in Colorado out of 2600 total.
  • After 13 years and 357 episodes, the long-running prime-time soap opera Dallas airs its final original episode on CBS.
  • Magic Johnson retires from basketball.

1992

  • Steve places 3rd in Great NW region (comprised of five states) with 139 sales in one year. Steve sets record for local area in number of sales.
  • After 30 years, 66 year old Johnny Carson hosts the Tonight Show for the last time.
  • The Bridges of Madison County, originally self-published by author Robert James Waller, will go on to become the largest selling novel in history
    with more than 60 million copies sold.

1993

  • Steve is inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and breaks his previous year’s record by completing 141 sales transactions.
  • Jurassic Park is released, and will go on to be the sixth highest-grossing movie in history.
  • The television sitcom Cheers ends an 11-year run on NBC (the show debuted on September 30, 1982).

  • Steve places 14th in Great NW region.
  • George Lucas begins writing the three Star Wars prequels.

  • Steve Arrington hosts first Egg Hunt and Coloring Contest and declares it a “great success”.
  • In Denver, the old Stapleton Airport closes; it is replaced by a new Denver International Airport, the largest airport in the United States.
  • On November 21st, Toy Story is released as the first feature-length film created completely using computer-generated graphics.

  • Steve hosts his second annual Egg Hunt and Coloring Contest.
  • Lisa Marie Presley files for divorce from Michael Jackson.
  • Zenith introduces the first HDTV-compatible front projection TV in the United States.

  • Steve receives RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Sales Performance. Kim Jones joins Steve’s team!
  • Super Bowl XXXII: Denver Broncos won 31-24 over the Green Bay Packers.
  • The Price is Right, airs its 5,000th episode on CBS.

  • Initial launch of stevearrington.com website takes place this year.
  • Lance Armstrong comes back from testicular cancer to win his first Tour de France.
  • Super Bowl XXXIII: Denver Broncos won 34-19 over the Atlanta Falcons; John Elway retired later in the year.

2000

  • Steve reaches the milestone of completing over 1200 real estate transacations in his 16 years of business.
  • America On-line announces an agreement to buy Time Warner for $162 billion. This is the largest-ever corporate merger.
  • George W. Bush succeeds Bill Clinton as President of the United States after prevailing over Al Gore in the disputed U.S. presidential election.
